Go Duster
Go Duster
The main complaint of anyone who cleans their own house is the amount dust that covers electronics, furniture, and any surface that it can collect on. Once you are done cleaning, you usually have to start it again and before you know it, you are in the perpetual dust cycle and a slave to your duster. There is a product out there named the “Go Duster” that has been all over television and the internet for a long time. This runs about $25 including shipping and handling, which is a good deal if the product works. The duster comes with two dusting heads and a bottle of multi surface spray. The duster operates on four double A batteries that are not included. The directions recommend testing before you clean an entire surface, and laminate flooring, glass, mini blinds, and cherry wood have not been damaged by it in household tests.
It is very simple to use, just spray and push the button and the head begins to spin. One downside is that you have to hold the button down the entire time you dust. This may not be ideal for people with arthritis or other conditions that affect the hands or wrists as it may cause pain. Another drawback is that dusting large areas seem to just blow around the area. This is an inconvenience if you are an allergy sufferer, because that is a lot of dust floating around in the air. This product works very well on all types of mini blinds. It is so hard to keep the individual slats clean, and the Go duster does a wonderful job of keeping them looking like new. The device also works on ceiling fans and light covers. The smaller sized dusting head is great for the smaller places like computers and DVD racks. One thing to be careful about is the duster spins very quickly and can tangle up easily in any dangling cords like ceiling fan pull chains or intricate light fixtures. These can be incidentally destroyed or torn off.
The Go Duster is great for cleaning everyday dusty surfaces. And while it cleans dust wonderfully, it is important to note that it is not a preventative device in anyway – you will still have to dust just as often as you did before your purchase. It is important to note though that this will not take nearly as long. As for its poor performance on larger surfaces, working left to right or vice versa seems to continuously push the dust in one direction, instead of haphazardly all around. As with any duster, the heads will need to be washed or replaced when they are full of dust, and depending where you live, this can be relatively often. They are relatively inexpensive and are easily replaced. The Go duster seems to be a sound invention that is moderately sturdy and greatly expedites the dusting process in your house. The less time you spend dusting the more time you can spend doing other things.
