Push Up Pro

Push Up Pro
Pushups are the foundation of any work out. They strengthen your arms, you legs, and most of all train your hard to reach abdominals. While this is a good exercise for any workout program, pushups are not the least bit easy to perform. They require a good deal of strength and can be somewhat daunting for beginners. The push up pro is an apparatus that is supposed to make pushups much easier for the average person. The user manual calls the push up pro “the ultimate upper body workout”. The product actually consists of two push up grips that allow the users arms to rotate during the move so that more muscles are targeted more effectively while reducing strain on wrist and joints.
Pushups themselves are punishing, so the idea of a gadget that makes them easier to do sounds wonderful. But most user reviews say that the rotating mechanism actually makes pushups harder. A normal pushup uses the stable floor as a surface and as you push against the surface, the body rises and uses its muscles to hold the position. With the rotating cusps, the person typically feels wobbly and unsure with their wrist muscles. It creates a tremendous need to stabilize your arms and support your upper body.
This technicality tends to make the pushups much tougher, and while some enthusiasts are up the challenge it makes it hard for the average person to work out. Instead of focusing on building chest muscles, many consumers find themselves worrying about their wobbling wrists and begin to watch the “suction” cups that stick to any surface slowly sliding along the carpet as they apply pressure. Steeling wrists against the strain, people feel weaker on the apparatus and confidence is a long time coming. If you have had any sort of wrist or elbow injury in the past, this may not be the apparatus for you.
Once you get past the rotating motion and the sliding cups, however, it is important to note that this is definitely a good work out. The suction cups work the best on a hardwood surface and do not threaten to slide out. Once you become accustomed to the sliding motion, the workout becomes smoother. This is a very intense forearm work out, and they seem to get more action than on a traditional push up. Upper arms feel the burn faster, and the burn is definitely a good sign. The next day your arms will be sore, but in a good way if you were able to master the move without injuring yourself.
The Push Up Pro is a good buy for anyone that is looking to change up their everyday push up routine and studies have shown that the unique twisting action will definitely form much stronger forearms and triceps than a traditional push up in less time. One word of advice, however, is that this should not be attempted by novice or first time strength trainers as it would be very easy to hurt yourself before your strong enough to support your wrists.
